Out For Our Children is a group of London lesbian parents producing books and resources that reflect our children's lives and family experiences. A child needs love, support and acceptance for who they are and where they come from: we believe that inclusive books and other materials are an essential part of that support.

Out For Our Children was originally founded in February 2004 by lesbian mothers with very young children to write guidelines as an aid for nurseries ill-prepared to welcome babies and toddlers with lesbian parents.

 Out for our Children has received financial assistance from the National Lottery Awards for All, the Local Network Fund (Every Child Matters), Haringey Community Chest and the Scarman Trust. These grants have enabled us to run a creche so the group can meet, produce resources and learning materials, run workshops on illustration and writing for children and to run a weekend 'futures' workshop.
