BLAGS  provide information and support to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transvestite community. We also provide support to people concerned about issues to do with their sexuality, as well as to anyone with concerns about a friend or relative. Our lines are normally open from: 8pm to 10pm on Monday-Thursday.

Bristol Rape Crisis Helpline 0117 929 8868

Wednesday 7.30pm - 9.30pm and Sunday 3 - 5pm

Bristol Rape Crisis is a specialist support service for women and girls in Bristol who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any point in their lives. The open days and time for the helpline are Wednesday 7.30pm - 9.30pm and Sunday 3 - 5pm on (0117) 929 8868. The new helpline is run by women for women, is a confidential and independent women-centred service. Women's Independent Alcohol Support

Women-only group by and for women who have/had alcohol issues. It seeks to provide friendship and support, without promoting specific treatment/recovery philosophies.  WIAS meet Saturday afternoons, in Bristol, but other times and places may be arranged. Small, friendly group that offers a real alternative to women, arrange outings, information sessions and regular, informal meetings on Saturday afternoons.  All women are welcome, but we ask that they do not have a drink before they come.

Off the Cuff

Women-only comedy show improvisation workshops. Michelle McMorrow (Off the cuff - London, Spank the Phoney & The Jezebelles Bristol) presents the chance to explore your creative and comedic abilities and learn new skills in a supportive and fun environment... where the rules of improvisation releases your creative flow! All women welcome. This group is not currently running, but get in touch if you are interested in taking part in future.

Pink Herrings

Social group for the more mature lesbian (well over thirty) who aren't necessarily into the scene type things.... the walking groups are always popular and in the last few months there has been a day at the races, theatre group outings, not the school sports day as well as the social meetings. We meet the first and third Thursday of the month at the Watershed in Bristol. Pink Herrings also produce a regular email newsletter of events in the area, get in touch with them if you would like to be on the list.

Sociability

New online discussion network for women to arrange civilised social activities, organise transport sharing to events, and general sharing of information in Bristol and thereabouts.
